Birthday gratitudes and it’s only 11am!

Since 7am (when my “Do not disturb” setting turns off), my phone has been dinging with little love letters, happy birthday wishes, the most beautiful messages of love and desire. I am really happy!

Thank you to each of you, for making this day so bright and shiny. It’s so wonderful to have you all send me little love notes today! Such a beautiful thing.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! ❤️

Making my morning coffee seemed like a dance in the kitchen, with my son making keto burgers and cheese and making the whole place smelled so yummy. With his equipment laid out neatly, meat sizzling on the cooker, and me gingerly filling the kettle, spooning coffee into a filter. “Want some?” He asked. “No thanks. It’s my birthday.” I said. “OH! Happy birthday.” He gave me a big hug. He’s taller than me, and strong. It’s nice to get hugs from my grown son. He’d forgotten it was my birthday, but I don’t mind. Actually.. as I was getting up, I thought he might be making me keto burgers as a birthday breakfast. Not too far fetched an idea, but I’m sort of glad he wasn’t because I wouldn’t be able to eat meat for, umm, hours. “Do you want me to get this stuff out of the way?” He asked. “No, it’s alright.”

I’ve been really grateful these days. My journal entries are overflowing with all sorts of explanations of what I’m grateful for, from the water I drink… well, to everything else. I could tell you about all of it, but my goodness, you might as well sit back in a comfy chair and get ready to be reading for hours. So, I’ll save you all that and just say, when you’re as privileged and blessed as I am, it’s easy to be grateful.

And today. Goodness… such an abundance of love just keeps pouring in. I am so, so grateful. I’m the luckiest birthday girl, ever!

While drinking my coffee, I set about sewing and planning the next moves on my silk embroidering project. Pieces of silk velvet, silk sewing threads, French hand-dyed embroidery silk .. yes, that’s right.. it might sound extravagant but it’s very economical with good sources. I’m not sure yet what the project will end up being. Right now, I’m thinking a tie for my hair. Embroidered silk velvet, hand-sewn. Yum.

Here’s me (with my goofy second-hand magnifying specs). Birthday girl! Haha. And some pics of my current project this morning.

❤️
