Christmas hats
For the past few months, I’ve been making hats.
The first one was a beautiful hat, but when time came to size it, it was far too big. And I’ve already washed it. So, I will unravel it and wind the yarn in a skein and wash it again to relax the yarn and ready it for knitting up once again.
Before Christmas, four hats were shipped out to their owners. And, I’ve found out they fit their owners perfectly! I’m so relieved. I can’t tell you how relieved. Super relieved.
Super grateful. ❤️
One in deep green wool and natural llama wool blend for my son (top pic), one in medium blue llama blend for my dear great-cousin (same pattern, no pic), and another for my auntie, in Irish merino in her favourite colour: turquoise (2nd pic)..
And then there’s the pink Fairy Hat.. crocheted with an amazing amount of love for my dear friend’s 2yo daughter. No pattern, just a lot of creative juice and LOVE. In Irish merino.. soft and warm. The hat really wanted to have a flower on the inside and wants to be worn inside-out sometimes.. so it received a secret flower on the inside as well! I’m very glad it was a perfect fit.
I’m very grateful that I’m able to accomplish so much when it wasn’t so long ago I was struggling with the first stitches. I’m still having to pay very close attention; having to take things out and redo a lot; start again, and again.. but I’m confident in the therapeutic aspects of this work. It helps me. I’m going a little bit faster. A bit more confidently. Feeling a bit better about myself.
Feeling blessed. ❤️
